Michele Orini joins BMEIS as Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Engineering

MicheleΒ Orini joins the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences as a Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Engineering in June 2024, where he is affiliated with the Research Department of Biomedical Engineering. His research interests include wearables and remote sensing for health, signal processing, cardiac arrhythmias, computational medicine, and the effect of music on cardiovascular function.

Before joining King’s College London, he was a Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow at the University College London. Michele is a biomedical engineer and data scientist and he develops and uses computational approaches to combat cardiovascular diseases. He works closely with clinicians to understand mechanisms of sudden cardiac death and to improve prediction and treatment of cardiovascular disease.

Michele holds a joint PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, and the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy, and a MEng from Centrale Paris, France.
