As a concert pianist and engineering professor, Elaine Chew SM ’98, PhD ’00 is developing novel methods for studying the physiological impacts of listening to music. Chew’s current research at King’s College London, and in collaboration with doctors, could eventually make it possible to tailor music-based therapies for cardiovascular diseases.
