The Music Theranostics Lab and ERC COSMOS Project led by Professor Elaine Chew had a strong presence at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress with three compelling presentations based on the HeartFM Study.
On the Digital Health Stage, PhD student Natalia Cotic explored how musical phrase structures can entrain blood pressure rhythms. At the Research Gateway, Postdoctoral Researcher Poulomi Pal shared insights into music-driven hypertension detection—focusing on isolated systolic and diastolic responses. She also introduced a study she initiated examining sex-based differences in cardiovascular reactions to specific musical features.
Natalia’s research on music entrainment of blood pressure rhythms supervised by Dr Vanessa Pope, Professor Pier Lambiase and Professor Elaine Chew was selected by ESC for a press release. The release sparked global interest and was featured by numerous international media outlets.
